This guide is designed for the latest version of AstraSync to you can also view a setup guide for version 3.0.
Click the link in your text message or type the address into the BlackBerry® Browser to load the application download page. Click 'Download' to start the instalation
Click yes to download the AstraSync program.
Wait while AstraSync downloads and installs. When complete run AstraSync to start the setup wizard.
Click 'yes' on to the data access security prompts.
It is highly recommended that you backup your existing data using the BlackBerry® Desktop Manager at this point. If you have enabled desktop synchronization of your calendar, contacts or emails in BlackBerry® Desktop Manager you must turn this OFF now to avoid having your data duplicated. Click OK when you are ready to continue.
To prevent data corruption Content Protection must be disabled on your device. If it is on please close AstraSync now, turn it off and restart the application from the Downloads folder.
Read the AstraSync license agreement, and then if you agree, click the application key to bring up the menu and select “Accept”.
Wait while AstraSync tests your device to work out the best way to connect to your email server. This can take several minutes and you may be prompted to allow AstraSync to connect to the network.
Once AstraSync has completed its tests choose next to continue. You can change the connection method later if it is not optimal for your data plan.
Enter your credentials and server information.
If you are unsure of what to enter for any of these items ask your server administrator or hosting provider.
Wait while AstraSync verifies your account credentials with your server.
Once the credentials have been verified click Next to continue. If verification fails choose 'back' to change your details.
Choose which items you want AstraSync to synchronize and click 'Next'
If you have chosen to synchronize calendar and contact data, and items already exist on your device the following warning will appear.
Choose an action appropriate to your device.
If you have been synchronizing with your Exchange Account through the BlackBerry® Desktop Manager you should choose to “Delete Device Items”.
If you wish to upload all your Device Items to Exchange choose “Continue Anyway”
If you choose to delete the items on your device, you must disconnect from your computer and wait while the items are deleted
AstraSync should now process your configuration settings and perfrom an initial sync of your data. Once the sync has completed your email inbox will be displayed.
If AstraSync fails to synchronize correctly and displays an error message, please follow the resolution steps for your error message at the AstraSync Forum
